How do I schedule a presentation?
To schedule an appointment, call the Youth Services Director,
Blair Young, at (303)440-9320, x 36. If we are unable to answer the phone, please leave a message with your name, school, grade level, presentation desired, phone number and, as it is often difficult to reach teachers since you are in the classroom most of the day, please leave the BEST TIME to contact you. We will return your call promptly.
For your convenience, you can also request a presentation by emailing us at
blair@bvwhc.org. We will contact you to schedule.
When should I schedule?
It is never too soon to schedule a presentation! In fact, our schedule fills up quickly so, please contact us as soon as possible.
We arent always able to provide presentations for everyone who calls but we will try to meet your needs. It is helpful to have a few possible days/times to make it easier.
Do you provide materials for my class?
We supply a set of handouts upon request. You may reproduce them for classroom use.
Do you need anything for me to have available for you when you come speak to my group?
We dont require anything that isnt found in the typical classroom
-- a writing surface, chalk, dry erase markers,
and tape. We provide everything else!
Who will be making the presentation to my group?
All presentations are made by Womens Health professional staff (not volunteers) who, in addition to being knowledgeable about the subject matter, have also received special training in pedagogy and presentation techniques.
Do you provide presentations for monolingual Spanish speakers?
You can arrange presentations for
monolingual Spanish speakers on all of the
same topics available in English. To set up
a presentation, contact the Latina Program
Coordinator, Jocelyn Martinez, at (303) 440-9320,
x 37. She can also provide you with a
complete set of handouts in Spanish upon
request.
What if I want a speaker on a subject not
listed in your information?
We recognize that YOU know the needs,
educational level and interests of your
unique group of young people best. We also
know that each district has its own
guidelines. We are excited to work with you
to tailor a presentation to meet these
criteria. We are also happy to design custom
presentations to meet the needs of our ever
changing community.
