Not only was the content of the presentation accurate, meaningful and age-appropriate, .. (it) also managed to totally engage my students!"- BVSD Middle School Health Teacher

In 2000, the Youth Program identified the need for targeted outreach to middle school aged youth and, since that time, presentations to 7th and 8th graders has increased almost 2000%!! We think this is an important trend and a critical step in preventing teenage unintended pregnancy and infections. Doing so provides these young people with valuable, age appropriate information before they need to use it– the essence of prevention programs.

Our middle school presentations have been designed by an educator and employ experiential activities, games and discussion. The most commonly requested presentations include information about Sexually-Transmitted Infections (STIs) and prevention/contraception methods.

My students said (she) was the best speaker they’ve EVER had. After BVWHC was here, they compared all other presentations to theirs.” – Middle School Health Teacher
